Today’s review includes a game compiled on RPGMaker with an extremely long title – Please Subscribe! Magical Revantia Channel: The Magical Girl Powered by Viewers. The game was recently released on Steam and has garnered both positive and negative reviews. According to the preview, the game attracts good drawing and unusual game mechanics.

Plot
After the launch, we find ourselves in a fictional city filled with all kinds of superheroes and super villains. Once a week, the villains make a raid – the alarm sounds, the inhabitants hide in shelters. Those who did not hide and were caught are raped, because all our villains commit raids in order to corrupt and fuck the population of the city.
We play as a girl named Revantia, the strongest super heroine of the city. Her superpower is that the more people who support her, the stronger she becomes. Behind the mask of an invincible heroine, an ordinary student Kei is hiding, and to fight superheroes, she disguises herself in the spirit of Superman to hide her real identity.
After learning that Kei is Revantia, friends decided to help us with a support kit and advised us to start broadcasting their lives. And it worked! Now, before the fight with the villains, the heroine turns on the light, takes the microphone and monitors the number of observers and subscribers. It is on this feature that the combat mechanics of the Magical Revantia Channel are built.
Gameplay
The gameplay in the game is divided into two types – battles and the search for intelligence, i.e. exploring the world.
Exploring the world
This mode is designed as the most classic journey through locations in RPG-Maker – chibi with a view from above. Super villains attack every Sunday, so in a week we need to collect as much information as possible about the enemy’s weak strengths, as well as complete third-party quests to gain subscribers and advance the main story.
You can visit a limited number of locations per day, in each of which only one action can be performed in 1 time period. Each of the villains has their own line of story quests that must be completed to get one of the 4 endings.
Combat system
Every Sunday, we inevitably go to another fight with a super villain. There are 4 of them in the game, and each of them, of course, also lives in this city, just hiding behind his mask. Before the fight, we choose our “equipment”, which will directly affect the rate of subscriber recruitment.
In battle, the audience will vote on which techniques they want to see more – and the more we indulge their desires, the more they support us, but there is a nuance. The audience does not always want to see the most effective attacks, and the enemy does not doze off at the same time – each enemy attack on the heroine reduces her stability, when reaching zero, an H-scene occurs from which you can either escape or succumb to temptation. Of course, for every lost battle, the heroine’s Lust score increases, opening access to new “activities” in the world exploration phase, as well as leading to progress along the storyline with the boss you lost to.
With each new attack by super villains, they acquire more and more new features and abilities, which forces us to carefully explore locations in the peaceful phase in order to guess the tactics of the enemy in advance and gain new abilities for the next battle with him.
Visually, the fights looks….bad. For some reason, the developers didn’t draw any animation, which of course scares the players away. In fact, if you close your eyes to the lack of a visual part, the mechanics of the fights are pretty cool.
Wankability
In terms of Wankability, Magical Revantia Channel belongs to the Corruption genre. Regardless of our actions, the heroine’s Lust score will increase every day, which opens up additional opportunities in the world exploration phase. Of course, Lust’s growth can be accelerated by losing battles or buying certain items, so our girl will “get” H-scenes for us faster.
There is a lot of H-content in the game – as many as 72 scenes, all of them are made in the format of classic static art, without animation, but many of them are repeated with minor changes. Everything is beautifully drawn – the artists did their best. In addition to the scenes with the villains themselves, there are scenes with minor characters, whether it’s a part-time job at a strip club or a train ride with a sexual maniac.
Since there are 4 bosses in the game, each of them has its own direction of scenes and its own mood.:
- Black Muscle – opens classic H-scenes;
- Mr. Hypno is responsible for the scenes with the hypnosis of the main character;
- Lilith – Exhibitionism and lesbian;
- Eroding Ones – monsters, tentacles, etc.
For the beautiful drawing and abundance of scenes, I would give the game 2 ❤❤ Wankability out of 5 ❤. Despite the quality of the drawing, the abundance of grind, repetitive CG, and difficulty opening all the scenes reduces the score. If they had done the animation, it would have been a solid three. Advantages and Minuses
As I mentioned above, the Magical Revantia Channel ranges from positive to extremely negative. Let’s look at the pros and cons of the game.
Minuses
- A very long start without H-content. The first week of gameplay, the game essentially shows training in which there is absolutely no CG, because of this, many simply abandon the game before getting the first H-scene.
- Even after completing the training, the process of obtaining H-scenes is quite difficult. It will take time to explore the city, search for quests and understand what is required of you to advance the story. You have to read guides or act blindly.
- A simple look in exploration mode and no animation in battle mode.
- The lack of a new game +, as well as the need to re-play the game to discover new endings. 4 of the 5 endings of the game are associated with the subjugation of the main character by one of the super-villains, which means that after Game Over, you will have to go through everything all over again, without saving the previous leveling. It’s not long, but it’s infuriating.
- Inconvenient controls, some of the game is controlled with the mouse, some only with the keyboard.
Positive
- High-quality drawing, beautiful main character;
- Interesting combat system.
Result
The advantages turned out to be too few =) Not a bad idea, bad implementation. In general, I do not recommend buying the “Magical Revanta Channel” on Steam, instead I suggest downloading it from the link below. The game is 100% complete in 8-10 hours.
